Marius Oberholzer is the Head of Multi-Asset at STANLIB Asset Management. He and his team manage assets across absolute return, multi-strategy, and hedge fund mandates. They design, deploy, and risk-manage assets globally, using qualitative and quantitative techniques and utilizing passive, active, listed, and unlisted assets to deliver the required client outcomes.
Before joining STANLIB Asset Management, Marius gained global investment experience in London and Hong Kong, trading and managing TT International Hedge Fund’s products. He combined direct investment strategies with bottom-up and top-down macro insights across the firm’s Hedge and Long-Only investment offerings. Upon returning to SA, he engaged in corporate finance activities, private market deals, and structuring before joining STANLIB Asset Management as Co-Head of Absolute Returns. He assumed sole leadership of the franchise in 2015, expanding the team and its capabilities to their current level.
At STANLIB Asset Management, Marius leads the Multi-Asset team, chairs Asset Allocation meetings, and is a member of Investment Exco. He is also the licensed Key Individual for STANLIB Asset Management’s Hedge Fund business. Marius has represented STANLIB Asset Management’s infrastructure investments as a non-executive director and served on the board of a listed Fintech special purpose acquisition company.
Marius holds a BCom (Economics and Commercial Law) from the University of Stellenbosch and an MSc (Global Finance) from the Stern School of Business at New York University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He also holds the IMC UK investment qualification.
Karen Ward
Karen brings extensive experience in economic and financial analysis, as well as public policymaking. Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2017, Karen served as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers for the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, where she provided advice on macroeconomic issues, including fiscal strategy and Brexit. Prior to that, she spent a decade at HSBC’s investment bank, holding various positions, including Chief European Economist. Her career began at the Bank of England, where she supported the Monetary Policy Committee with analytical work.
In 2023, Karen was a member of the UK Government’s Economic Advisory Council and has been recognised as one of Financial News’s ‘100 Most Influential Women in European Finance’ every year since 2019. She is currently a member of the UK Office for Budget Responsibility's Advisory Council.
Karen holds a Master's degree with Distinction in Economics from University College London

Mofatlhosi Ledwaba
Mofatlhosi Ledwaba holds a BSc in Mathematics with Financial Orientation and is Manager: Investment Product at Liberty Corporate Benefits.
Her experience spans investment product development, wealth management and investment operations, including roles at Sasfin Wealth and Sasfin Securities. She brings a strong understanding of portfolio implementation and platform dynamics to the design and oversight of investment solutions for corporate clients, contributing to the growth and strategic development of Liberty’s Corporate Benefits platform.
Joshua Ramokolo
Joshua Ramokolo is a Specialist: Investment Products at Liberty Corporate Benefits. He holds a BCom in Economics & Econometrics and a BCom (Honours) in Investment Management.
Prior to joining Liberty, he worked as a Product Analyst at Absa Investments and as an Industry Research Analyst at Fitch Solutions. Drawing on experience across investment product development and economic research, he contributes to the design and oversight of investment solutions within the Corporate Benefits platform, with a focus on pre-retirement strategy and portfolio architecture.
